Paul is a general economist with extensive experience as a researcher, policy advisor and editor. He graduated from the University of Amsterdam with a 9 for his thesis on banks. He also has a propaedeutic degree in communication sciences. Paul has a passion for writing on economic topics at different levels (e.g. fiscal economics), from scientific to popular texts. As an editor, he is used to structuring diverse texts – from students to professors – and making them accessible to the reader. He approaches thesis supervision (WO and hbo) with the same enthusiasm.
“I am happy to guide you through all phases of your thesis, from critical sparring partner in the preparation of your research plan, through setting (intermediate) goals to editorial suggestions in the final phase, both before and after your reviewer’s comments. Central is what you need at that moment. Some students need to be slowed down slightly and need to focus their ideas more. Others, on the contrary, need the confidence that their ideas and the choices they make are ‘good enough’.”
Paul is a generalist who is always excited by new topics. His subject matter expertise is macroeconomics and financial markets, but he is also interested in other social sciences.
Thesis supervision from Paul is possible on location in Amsterdam and online via Skype, by phone or in the document.
