As a graduate supervisor, I value a personalized approach, tailoring my guidance to students’ unique situation, learning goals and strengths. My approach is coaching, open-minded and solution-oriented, with attention to reflection and the student’s personal development. I value reliable (scientific) evidence and ensure that my guidance is based on current research methods and insights.
Topics in which I can support students are pedagogy, psychology, health care, communications and research methods. I myself graduated from the UvA where I studied pedagogical sciences. Then I did doctoral research on the psychosocial development of children and adolescents with type 1 diabetes. After working for several years as a postdoc researcher and teacher (both WO and HBO), I now work as an independent researcher and thesis supervisor.
