Iwan completed a master’s degree in bioinformatics & systems biology at the UvA & VU. He also started a PhD in computational epigenetics in Utrecht for a while, but decided to switch after 2 years. Besides supervising theses, Iwan is currently engaged in scenography in Amsterdam. Furthermore, Iwan does a lot of boardsports such as kitesurfing and snowboarding.
Iwan can help you with your thesis and specializes particularly in social studies, humanities, STEM studies such as (medical) biology, computer science, chemistry and physics and statistics. He can also assist you if you suffer from fear of failure, procrastination or experience imposter syndrome:
I am a calm, structured and approachable supervisor and I have extensive experience in writing and presenting theses and articles. In addition, I can assist you well with statistical analyses in R, Python and SPSS. For more general guidance, I find many other subject areas interesting in the social sciences and humanities, both for Wo (bachelor’s and master’s) and also college theses. I enjoy helping with a plan of action, calmly establishing structure, setting up and/or performing statistics and all other underdevelopment of a thesis and presentation.
